Problem

In this exercise, I phrased the Lowcountry Construction Supply's problem as follows: The business simply did not have a strong online presence. Potential customers found it difficult to learn about their products and services, resulting in missed opportunities and a loss in potential revenue. The previous website (if one existed) may have been outdated, difficult to navigate, and not reflective of their commitment to quality and service. Lack of engagement methods such as special offers and easy contact forms might have also been an issue.

Solution

This is a mock website is for a mock brand I created, named "Lowcountry Construction Supply". They are a local supplier of construction materials. For me, this was an exercise in creating a real business, with real services and a real brand, from scratch. The design is modern and user-friendly, featuring a clean layout with a predominant yellow, black, and white color scheme which I devised after referencing some color psychology literature I had read last year. This research led to decisions not only limited to the color scheme, but expanding to minutae such as the angular edges of the buttons and other UI elements. The idea is that these sharp angles nature exists throughout trade businesses, so we want to leverage that to help create a strong, cohesive, market-fitting brand. This site tackles these problems effectively. Key features and improvements include: ■ Design and Structure: A modern, responsive design that works well on all devices, ensuring a seamless user experience. ■ Clear Navigation: Simplified navigation with easily accessible information that allows users to quickly find what they need. ■ Engagement Features: A pop-up for a 15% off special offer to encourage user engagement and lead capture. ■ Detailed Information: Sections describing the company’s complete inventory and custom services, accentuating their expertise and reliability. ■ Visual Elements: High-quality images and graphics that depict the construction process and products, making the site visually appealing and informative. ■ Customer Commitments: Clear presentation of their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, building trust with potential clients. ■ Call to Actions (CTAs): Prominently placed CTAs encouraging visitors to get a quote, learn more, or contact the company, which can help convert visitors into customers. ■ Educational Content: Addition of an educational blog or resources section to further engage users and establish the site as a knowledgeable resource in the industry. ■ Partners and Testimonials: Displaying logos of partners and client testimonials to reinforce credibility and reliability.
