Sit back and relax. I'm not just building you a website, I'm building you a passive revenue device. After a few months, Google will begin to rank your site. When a user searches for "[your business type] in my area", they will now see your business' site, visit it, then become leads -> clients -> revenue. I maximize everything from the site's google search rank, to the customer conversion funnels once they are in the site. All without you doing a single thing, for $150/mo.

Superb work. Had a very nice process, only took 3 weeks. Very good price and quality work delivered. Extremely satisfied. Thanks Dobson.
Dobson does a fantastic job explaining complex technical issues in layman terms!
Dobson was transparent and flexible about his way of working. He thinks along to set up a solution that works in the long run.
Very satisfied with what Dobson built for my business. No whining or ridiculous prices like what you encounter at bigger companies.

Why not just use a page builder like WordPress?
■ Static websites coded from scratch load up to 10 times faster than page builders like WordPress. If your website takes more than 3 seconds to load, the majority of your visitors will abandon the site, losing customers. ■ Google indexes your website based on how your mobile site performs, and page builder mobile sites are not as optimized, not as fast, not as well built, and often times not 100% responsive, which could hinder your search rankings. ■ My handmade sites are coded mobile first, meaning I write the code starting with mobile screens, then adding code for tablet and desktop. This makes mobile more responsive, optimized, and incredibly fast to load - improving your website's performance on Google and making sure visitors don't abandon your site. ■ WordPress is notoriously known for its vulnerabilities and needs to be updated regularly to patch security flaws that hackers can use to compromise your website. Handmade static sites cannot be compromised as easily, and are virtually impenetrable because of their simplicity and lack of entry point opportunities to bad actors.

Why not just use a web design agency?
Having worked for multiple agencies myself, I saw that they often delivered sub-par value to small business owners. Here's why: ■ Too expensive. Often times it will cost $2,500+ for just a simple business website. This is a steep upfront price-to-value ratio, especially for smaller-scale business. I offer $150/mo for a minimum of 6 months, while delivering much more value past what a web design agency will (24/7 1-on-1 support, SEO included, maintenance & hosting costs included, etc...). ■ Too needy. Often times we would be requiring multiple meetings per-week, asking redundant or unnecessary questions from our clients, who are already very busy. My process is quick and easy. I handle of all the complexities and time-sinks for you, so that you can focus on your life and your business. ■ Cold Turkey Relationships. Often times after the agency delivers the solution, they end their relationship with their client. This leaves clients responsible for website maintenance, or possibly having to spin-up with an entirely new agency if they ever want minor or major changes made. This is extremely costly from both time and money perspectives. I solve this by being your long-term, one-stop-shop. Want to do a major overhaul? Want to open up an e-commerce branch of your business? Want to run some digital marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness in a certain demographic? I already know you and your business, so I can get to work immediately without you having to go through ANOTHER onboarding process somewhere else. I founded OakLab to solve these very pain points, while adding new unique value to my clients.

What do you mean "hand-coded"? Why should I care?
TLDR; Hand-coded software performs better than page builders like Wordpress or Wix. When Google ranks websites in their search results, they will rank better-performing sites higher than others. This results in a higher search ranking for your site, which in turn brings in more organic traffic, which in turn brings in more leads, customers and revenue. For those who want the full story: One of the most important aspects of your website ranking on google is how fast it loads and performs - especially on mobile. The problem with dynamic websites (WordPress, Wix, etc) is that the server takes more time to check the database and put everything together. And the more plug ins and extra stuff you have on your site the more you will only slow it down. This is critical because studies have shown that majority of users will abandon a website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. So if your website is taking more than 3 seconds to load, what’s the point in even having it if a majority of the users won’t even view it? That’s one the BIGGEST drawbacks that I see with WordPress and Wix sites - they can take too long to load and cost you money. Static sites, however, can load up to 10 times faster than a dynamic website because it doesn’t need to do website surgery and reattach the limbs of the page as fast as possible on the browsers operating table. Everything is already prebuilt, so all the browser has to do is load it and throw it at us. There’s no plugins, no databases, no wasted space or bloat. Every line of code that I write in my sites are done with purpose, and written in an organized manner that’s easy for Google to read and understand. Dynamic sites like WordPress have TONS of bloated and messy code that only further bog down the load times. Imagine if you have a plate of spaghetti and you want to know how many noodles are on your plate. Well, they’re all mixed up and tangled up in each other that it will take a lot of time to separate them and count how many noodles there and make sense of it. On your other plate (your “static” plate) you have all your noodles lined up in nice groups of 10 on the plate with the meat on the side ready to eat (please don’t eat spaghetti like this). It’s a lot easier and faster to analyze how many noodles you have when everything is grouped together accordingly and organized. This is the difference in how the code of a dynamic site looks versus the code of a static site. It’s called “spaghetti code”. And it makes loading a site a more time-consuming effort for the browser to analyze and load, and Google’s search crawlers will have a hard time understanding your content and what it means since it’s tucked away in a mess of code with no context around it. The benchmark load time for a website is 2 seconds. My handmade static websites can often times load in under 0.5 seconds, significantly lower than the average. They load almost instantly. The code is grouped together and organized, making it easier to read for your browser and for Google, which improves load times and in turn keeps customers from leaving your site and improves your websites ranking on Google. So, if your website isn’t bringing in a lot of business, check to see how long it takes to load with this tool from Google. If it’s load time is over 3 seconds chances are people are leaving before they even reach it. Speaking of Google and speed, they recently made an update to their search algorithm in which they rank your website based on how the mobile site performs, called Mobile First Indexing. So basically, the faster your mobile site loads, the better you rank. That’s where static sites win every time.

What is "SEO"? Why is it so important to my business?
Short Answer: SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization." In this day and age, when someone is looking for a product or service - they google it. SEO is all of the little things you can do to make sure that your website is ranked highly in the results of your potential clients' google searches. Let's use an example: Imagine you own a plumbing business. When someone in your area needs a plumber, they'll probably go online and search for "plumber near me" or "emergency plumbing services." SEO helps your website show up higher in these search results, so more people can find and contact you. Why is it important? When your website is optimized for search engines, it's more likely to appear on the first page of search results. This means more people will see your business before they see your competitors, leading to more visitors to your site and more potential customers for your services. Longer answer: Here's what I do to make sure your site outperforms others—especially on Google, the most influential search engine: 1. Hand-Coded Precision: Unlike most page builders, I meticulously hand-code your website. This clean, efficient code ensures faster load times and a smoother user experience, which Google loves. 2. Keyword Research: I identify the exact phrases and terms your potential customers use when searching for services. By incorporating these keywords naturally into your site, I make it easier for Google to match your website with search queries. Mobile Optimization: Many searches happen on mobile devices, so I ensure your site is fully optimized for mobile. A mobile-friendly design improves user experience and boosts your Google ranking. 3. Local SEO: I optimize your site for local searches by adding relevant local keywords, setting up and optimizing your Google My Business profile, and ensuring your business information is consistent across the web. This helps your business appear in local search results and Google Maps. 4. High-Quality Content: I create engaging, informative content tailored to your audience. Google prioritizes websites with valuable content that answers user questions and provides useful information. 5. Technical SEO: I take care of the behind-the-scenes stuff like proper use of meta tags, alt texts for images, and setting up a clear site architecture. These technical details tell Google how to read and rank your site. 6. Link Building: I help build high-quality backlinks from reputable sites. These links act like votes of confidence, signaling to Google that your site is trustworthy and authoritative. Conclusion: In simple terms, my approach to SEO is like giving your business a premium, custom-built car that runs faster, smoother, and looks better than the rest, ensuring you get noticed online and attract more customers.
